MRP Party In The Park Night #1 Kicks Off Month of June

In what started as a smooth night of racing was thrown a curve ball as Mother Nature made an appearance at MRP just after all the heat races were completed. After spending lots of time to run the track in and getting all cars onto the track to help it was a super fast race track when the Late Models took to the track for their 30 lap feature event. At the drop of the green it was Wheelersburg,Ohio's Rod Conley and Edinburgh, Indiana's Chad Stapleton out front and setting a torrid pace at the front of the field. A Mike Unger spin on lap 7 slowed the pace and on the restart there was significant tire smoke from the left rear of Conley and within two laps his tire blew bringing out a second caution flag. On the restart it was all Stapleton as the Club 29,K&L Machine, Brian Bowman Dodge, Rodger's Bar sponsored machine would go on and claim his second feature win of the season. Scott Edmisten would come home second with John Whitney, Chad Smith, and Lauren Longbrake completing the top five spots. Chamberlain Wins Armed Forces Night at MRP

Week #3 of the 2015 race season seen another great race in the late model division as they would tackle the 8th Annual Freedom Fighters 40 event. In heat race action it was Winchester, Ohio's Nick Latham taking the win in the first heat over Edinburgh, Indiana's Chad Stapleton. In heat race #2 it was Columbus, Indiana's Devin Gilpin taking the win over Richmond, Indiana's Duane Chamberlain. In the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Fast Car Dash it was Latham taking the win over Gilpin, Chamberlain, and Chad Stapleton. In the 40 lap feature event it was Gilpin jumping out front in his Beeman Lumber, Mastersbuilt but it was Chamberlain on his back bumper for the first 9 laps until Chad Stapleton broke in turn #3 bringing out the first caution. On the restart it was still Chamberlain looking under Gilpin for the top spot while Latham, Whitney, and Greg Johnson battling would behind them. Lap #28 would see the St Henry Niteclub sponsored machine from Richmond, Indiana take the top position. Chamberlain would then start to pull away and race to his first win of the 2015 race season. Latham would come home in second spot for the third consecutive week while Whitney would rally to third position ahead of Gilpin with Cody Mahoney finishing in 5th spot (after starting in 13th spot)....read more

Another fantastic night of racing at MRP

Night #2 of the racing season was another successful night as a strong field of 17 late models were on hand and in heat race action it was Edinburgh, Indiana’s Chad Stapleton taking the win over last week’s feature winner John Whitney. In the second heat race it was Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin taking the win on the last lap over Ethan Burgess of Cincinnati. In the feature event it looked as though the 3-time UMP Modified National Champion would claim his first late model victory of the season at Moler but it was not to be as a part failure in the drive train on lap #9 would end his evening. On the restart it was Stapleton out front but there was a great battle right behind him as Nick Latham, Burgess, Whitney, and Duane Chamberlain would not only trade track positions but they would trade racing lanes on the track throughout the 25 lap feature event. Following a lap 18 restart it was Latham pressuring Stapleton for the win but the Winchester, Ohio driver would fade and have his hands full with Whitney for second position. At the end it was Stapleton in his K&L Machine, 31 Auto Group, Brian Bowman Dodge, Rogers Bar sponsored Club 29 chassis taking his first win of the 2015 season. Latham would out battle Whitney for second spot with Burgess, and Chamberlain completing the top 5 spots....read more

3rd Annual Coca Cola Turkey Gobbler 40 at MRP!!

11-17-12 - Williamsburg, OH - For only the 3rd time Mother Nature provided weather good enough for Moler Raceway Park to host the Turkey Gobbler event and this year's event was exciting to say the least. As is the case with the two previous versions there were many new faces in attendance in the stands and on the racetrack. Lots of new racers usually results in many more than normal cautions and that was definitely the case this year. In the Mt. Orab Ford Late Model Division there were 26 cars on hand forcing the drivers to race their way into the main event through qualifying heat races.

Lawrenceburg, Indiana’s Jason Jameson was victorious in heat race #1 while track Champion Barry Doss of Sardinia, Ohio won the second heat with Richmond, Indiana’s Duane Chamberlain victorious in the 3rd heat event. Manchester, Ohio’s Jeff Arnold was victorious in the 12 lap B-main event.

In the 40 lap feature event it was Chamberlain out front in his Best Performance, St Henry Nite Club sponsored machine but Jameson was in close pursuit. As they approached lap traffic Jameson was able to get past Chamberlain but it only lasted for a half lap as slower traffic gave Chamberlain the opening to retake the lead. Following a couple of minor incidents and ensuing cautions Jameson was able to finally make the pass and take the lead for good on lap #12. The all-time wins leader in the late model division at the speedway was able to runaway and take his second consecutive season-ending win and 5th win of the season at MRP.  Chamberlain would come home second with Michigan driver Brandon Thirlby coming home in third with KC Burdette and Weasel Rhodes rounding out the top five positions.

In the Holman Motors Modified division there was lots of cars and lots of excitement with 29 cars on hand trying to make the 20 lap feature event. The excitement started early in the modifieds as a make-up feature from October 5th was the first event on the day.

From the beginning the make-up race was interesting as drivers in different cars were told in the drivers meeting that they would start from the tail of the event. In what was originally a 22 car field there were 17 able to return from that October evening and start the race.

At the green it was Jimmy Lennox Jr out front leading the field but many eyes were on Robert Garnes out of Ripley, WV as he charged from 12th spot to overtake Lennox on lap 13 and set sail for what appeared to be a big win. Following the post race accolades it was determined that Garnes was in a different car from that October night and he should have started on the tail of the field. As a result Dave McWilliams was credited with the win in his Reaper Racecar. Lennox would get second spot with Dan Dehner, Derrick Davis, and Shane Mugavin rounding out the top five positions.

In the regular program of events for the Modifieds it was Garnes winning heat race #1 with Steve Clemmons of Chillicothe, Ohio winning heat race #2 with Hanover, Indiana’s Joey Kramer winning the 3rd heat race. In the B-main event it was Courtney Conley of Lexington, Kentucky taking the win and setting the field of cars.

In the A-main it was all Joey Kramer as the “Rocketman” would pilot the Don Adams owned Lightning Chassis house car to another win at the ¼ mile speed plant.  Chasing Kramer across the line was Garnes and McWilliams while Collin Thirlby came from 11th to place fourth with Clay City, Kentucky’s Keith Smith came home in fifth spot.

In the Holman Motors Chevette division it was once again Rusty Yarger the man to beat as the Hillsboro, Ohio driver claimed yet another feature win on the season (his 11th total win at MRP). There was a great battle behind him though as Sean Jones, Josh Francis, and Boog Verdon battled all the way to the checkered flag sometimes 3 wide. Jones and Yarger were winners of the preliminary heat races.

In the Crazy Compact division there was a nice field of cars on hand with many newcomers in attendance for the seasons final event including 13 year old Bethany Moler, a fourth-generation driver of the Moler Family. The feature event started with Collin Green out front with Justin Dalton in pursuit. On lap 6 Green suddenly slowed momentarily off of turn #2 allowing Dalton to take the lead and behind them there was about 10 cars battling for 3rd through 6th spot. With 1 lap remaining it appeared as if Dalton and Green were both going to be passed by Trevor Landrum but another caution flew for an incident off of turn #2 causing a 1 lap shootout to finish the race and the season. With the green flag in the air it was Green getting under Dalton down the backstretch and as they came off of turn 4 for the final time Collin Green was able to inch ahead and take the win. Dalton would get second with Landrum, Jerry Gibson Jr, and Chris Sawyer taking the top five spots after some penalties were levied for jumping the final restart.

AMS Closes out Regular Season at Moler Raceway Park

10-12-12 - Williamsburg, OH - Another nice field of cars were on hand for the second visit of the American Modified Series of the season at MRP. In the Williams Precision Engine qualifications it was Hanover, Indiana’s Joey Kramer setting quick time with a lap of 14.183 around the quarter mile oval. In heat race action it was Kramer taking the win in heat race #1 ahead of AMS point leader Trent Young of Hopkinsville, Ky. In heat race #2 it was West Portsmouth, Ohio’s Doug Adkins taking the checkers over Rising Sun, Indiana’s Scott Kincaid. In the 3rd heat race it was Mt Vernon, Indiana’s Levi Kissinger taking the win with Quad City, Illinois driver Donavan Lodge taking second spot.

In the B-main event it was Verona, Kentucky’s Dave McWilliams taking the checkers. In the 30 lap feature event it was Kramer and Adkins out front at the start with Kramer taking the lead as the two headed side-by-side into turn 3. While the “Rocketman” would runaway out front there was great racing back in the pack as Adkins and T.Young would race side-by-side for what seemed like the middle half of the race with Lodge, Kissinger, and Jimmy Payne battling just behind them. With no cautions to slow the field it was Kramer running away from the pack but having to pick his way through the lapped traffic who were battling for positions. In the end it was Kramer picking up win #20 in his Lightning Chassis, Hills Historic Painting, River City Automotive Machine. Trent Young would come home second with Adkins, Kissinger, and Lodge rounding out the top five positions.

In the Mt Orab Ford Late Model Division there was a nice field of 19 late models on hand and while the AMS went without a caution in their feature event the same couldn’t be said for the late models as there were two complete restarts slowing the action and once the race got going there were 3 more accidents on lap #2 alone. The most serious appearing incident involved Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg,WV ending up on his side sandwiched between Ironton,Ohio’s Joe Ramey and Joel Ortberg of Sardinia, Ohio. No one was injured and Carpenter was actually able to restart from the tail of the field following the accident. On the restart it was all Chad Stapleton as the Edinburgh, Indiana driver claimed his 8th feature win of the season at MRP in his Bowman Dodge, RightWay Construction Barry Wright RaceCar with a Jay Dickens Race Engine.  KC Burdette would have a strong showing for his first time at MRP this season with a second place finish while 2012 Track Champion Barry Doss would come home in 3rd spot followed by Weasel Rhoades and Jeff Babcock. Stapleton and Burdette were victorious in heat race action.

In the Holman Motors Chevette Division it was more of the same as Track Champion Rusty Yarger would claim his 9th feature win of the season at the start of the night in the make-up feature and then turn around and win his 10th race of the season during the regular portion of the program. Yarger would lead all 15 laps in taking his Northwest Transmission, Wilson Body Shop machine to yet another victory lane.  Josh Francis would claim second position over Miles Tarvin, Boog Verdon, and Eric Weaver in the regular feature event. In the makeup feature it was Tarvin claiming second spot with Verdon leading Francis and Mike Clark rounding out the top five spots. In heat race action it was Tarvin and Yarger claiming the wins.

The Crazy Compacts would also run a makeup race to start the night and it was Jerry Gibson III taking his second feature win of the season over Justin Dalton, Colin Green, Kyle Ashcraft, and Michael Gemmert. In the regular program it was Rodney Foltz out front and leading at the green flag with Gibson III in pursuit. Those two would stay that way as Foltz would claim the win followed by Gibson III, Colin Green, 2012 Track Champion Michael Skeens, and Willie Butler. Foltz and Butler were victorious in heat race action.

MRP would like to thank all our race fans, drivers and sponsors for another great season and Congratulations to Mt. Orab Ford Late Model Champion Barry Doss, Holman Motors Chevette Champion Rusty Yarger, Holman Motors Modified Champion Jeremie Bretz and Holman Motors Crazy Compact Champion Michael Skeens.  Only one race left for the season and that's the Coca-Cola Turkey Gobbler 40, Late Models 1500 to Win, Mod makeup race 1000 to Win, plus regular Mod race along with Holman Motors Chevettes and Crazy Compacts on November 17th with a rain date of November 24th.

Mother Nature Claims a Portion of Fall Fest @ MRP

10-6-12 - Williamsburg, OH - The only division of racing that got all racing complete was the Mt. Orab Ford Late Models and it was Edinburgh, Indiana’s Chad Stapleton once again sweeping the night as the RiteWay Construction, Jay Dickens race engine, Rogers Bar, Bowman Dodge sponsored machine would run away in both his heat race and feature events claiming his 7th feature event of the season. 2012 Track Champion Barry Doss would come home second with Mt Pleasant, Michigan driver Adam Thrush, Rickey Arms, and John Whitney rounding out the top five finishers. Dillon Huron would win heat race number 2 over Greg Johnson but both driver would have problems in the feature event forcing DNF’s.

The Holman Motors Modified division was coming to take the green flag when mother nature let loose causing the field to scramble as they took the green and with the threat of even more rain on the way the rest of the evening was cancelled. Winning heat races were Jimmy Lennox Jr, Ken Schrader, and Shane Mugavin.  Nascar Driver Kenny Schrader made his first appearance at MRP and ran wheel-to-wheel with the locals during the preliminaries.  Unfortunately Mother Nature cut the night short but Kenny vowed he would return to the 1/4 mile speed plant next year.

In the Holman Motors Chevette division it was Rusty Yarger and Miles Tarvin claiming heat wins and setting the starting lineup in the feature event. In the Crazy Compact division it was Trevor Landrum and Jerry Gibson III taking the preliminary victories.  October 12th the American Modified Series will return to MRP with a $1500 to Win Modified race, along with all regular classes and a makeup of the Chevette and Crazy Compacts features.  The Modified feature makeup will be ran 11-17-12 at the 4th Annual Coca-Cola Turkey Gobbler with a rain date of 11-24-12.

Derrick Davis Takes the $1,000 Win of the Holman Motors Hillbilly National Event @ MRP

5-11-12 - Williamsburg, OH - The Holman Motor Chevette division was the featured class at Moler Raceway Park for their Annual Hillbilly National race featuring a 25 lap feature paying $1000 to the winner. With 19 cars on hand it was Batavia, Ohio’s Derrick Davis and Georgetown, Ohio’s Sean Jones winning preliminary races and setting the field. At the drop of the green it was all Davis in the Holman Motor sponsored machine leading the way with fifth starting Rusty Yarger making the hard charge to the second position. Throughout the race it was Davis leading with Yarger right on his back bumper but that was as close as he could get. Davis would claim his second feature win of the season with Yarger, Jeff Watson, Josh Francis, and Sean Jones rounding out the top five.

In the Mt Orab Ford Late Model Division it was Chad Oberson and Chad Stapleton claiming heat race wins and earning front row starting spots. In the feature event Oberson and Stapleton would make slight contact on the initial start with Stapleton spinning in front of the field. Oberson would go pitside for some quick repairs and return to the tail of the field for the restart. On the restart it was Alan Magner leading the first lap but fifth starting John Whitney would take over the top position on lap two. It looked like Jason Jameson would take the lead on lap three but the caution would wave and the field reverted back to last completed lap with Whitney being the leader in his Stephens Heating and Cooling, Amaze-a-Stitch Embroidery machine but Jameson was right behind him trying different grooves looking for a fast line. Despite a couple of restarts for minor spins it was still Whitney leading throughout the event. As the two leaders would take the white flag there was some heavy traffic directly in front of the leaders and Whitney would get boxed in heading down the backstretch for the final time allowing Jameson to rocket past to take the lead headed into turn three. Things got really interesting off of four coming for the checkered as the lapped car of Oberson and Jameson would make contact sending him into the front stretch wall and high into the air before rolling over and stopping just past the start finish line while Jameson would cross the line and take his third feature win of the season this time driving the Darell Lanigan #29 machine. Whitney would come home in second position with Magner, Barry Doss, and Chad Stapleton rounding out the top five spots.

In the Holman Motors Modified division there were 35 cars on hand trying to make the 20 car starting line-up and the talk was “Who Can Beat Devin Gilpin?”. After winning the first five feature events of the season it was looking good for number six as Kid Dasco was able to win his heat race. Also winning heats were Doug Adkins, David McWilliams, and Joe Godsey. In the two B-main events it was Chris Kreutzkamp and Matt Westfall taking the checkered  flags. The twenty lap feature event was one of the best seen in a long time as McWilliams and Adkins would race side-by-side for the lead with Godsey, Gilpin and Matt Hamilton (started in 7th spot) in pursuit. McWilliams would lead the first 7 laps before Adkins would take over but all eyes were on Gilpin and Hamilton who were charging forward. Hamilton would get to second by lap 10 and 5 laps later he would take over the top spot and set sail for his first victory of the season at MRP in his A-1 Lanscaping, Schmoes Collision Service, Diamond Racecar. Adkins would come home in second with McWilliams, Gilpin and Godsey rounding out the top five positions.

In the 12 lap Crazy Compact feature it was Crittenden, Ky’s Dana Moore taking the feature win while Jerry Gibson III, Blake Gibson, Stephanie Butler, and Michael Adams rounded out the top five. Moore also won the heat race event.  For Mother's Day the Powder Puff race was exciting and all four cars got a trophy.

5-12-12 Was the first night of Go-Kart  racing this year at MRP and had many carts on hand as they tuned their carts for the fast and wide 1/5 mile go cart track.  Many were on hand and we expect many more next Saturday, Gates Open at 2:00 Hot Laps at 4.  Next week also brings the Fifth Annual Armed Forces Night to MRP with Mt.  Cold Temps Don’t Deter the Racers at MRP!!

4-27-12 - Williamsburg, OH - Despite cold temps there was some great racing at Moler Raceway Park for the fifth straight week. In the Mt Orab Ford Late Models it was Chad Stapleton and Chad Oberson on the front row and at the drop of the green flag Stapleton was out front. Points Leader Duane Chamberlain was on his bumper but the longer the races went green the more of a lead the Stapleton would get. At the end of the 25 lap affair it was Stapleton claiming his second feature of the season in his Bowman Dodge, Skeletor Core, Roger’s Bar, Rocket Chassis machine. Chamberlain would come home second with Barry Doss, Mike Meyers, and Oberson rounding out the top five. Stapleton and Mark Frazier would claim heat race wins.

In the Holman Motors Chevettes division it was a strong field of cars on hand as they were prepping for next week’s Hillbilly National Event paying $1,000 to the winner. In the feature event it was heat race winners Rusty Yarger and Miles Tarvin on the front row coming to the green flag.Yarger would lead the first two laps but Tarvin would make the pass and move on to take his third win of the season in his Carrington Farm Service, Brown County Pork Producers, Lykins Oil sponsored machine. Derrick Davis would pass Yarger at the halfway point and claim second spot while Yarger held on for 3rd spot over Jeff Watson and Josh Francis.

In the Holman Motors Modified Division it was three heat races starting the night off to determine which of the 26 cars would start the A-main. Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin would start his drive for five straight wins by claiming victory in heat race #1 over Rising Sun, Indiana’s Scotty Kincaid. In heat #2 it was Maysville, Ky’s Jeremie Bretz taking the win over Goshen, Ohio’s Dustin Webber while in heat race #3 it was Aurora Indiana’s Matt Hamilton taking the win over a hard charging Joe Godsey from Edinburgh, Indiana. In the B-Main event it was Bethel, Ohio’s Larry Pickelheimer Jr taking the win over Batavia’s Derrick Davis. In the feature event it looked like it might be more of the same as Gilpin jumped out to the top spot but it was no easy race as near the midpoint of the race Gilpin would encounter traffic and Bretz would drive past him to briefly take the lead but by lap 16 Gilpin would drive back past and retake the lead for good in his Impressive Racecar, Dasco Race Supply, Mike Shell Racing Engines sponsored machine. “Kid Dasco” would claim his fifth feature win of the season at MRP and 9th win overall. As they came to the checkered flag Bretz and Joe Godsey would get tangled up as Bretz would make contact with the tire on the inside of turn number four ending his race just shy of the start/finish line. Godsey would claim second position over Matt Hamilton, Jimmy Lennex Jr, and Kincaid.

In the Crazy Compacts division it was a Michael Skeens kind of night as the driver from Washington Court House would win everything possible. Starting off the night Skeens would claim the 12 lap make-up feature from 4-20-12. He would follow that up with wins in his 8 lap heat race and the regularly scheduled 15 lap feature event. Jerry Gibson III would claim second in both feature events. Meanwhile Rodney Foltz, Chris Sawyer, and Stephanie Butler would round out the top five in the make-up feature with Nate Blanton, Butler, and Misty Moore rounding out the top five in the regular feature event. May 4th will be Holman Motors Hillbilly Nationals Night with Chevettes running for $1000 to Win, $500 for 2nd and 250 for 3rd, along with all regular classes.

Moler Beats Mother Nature (sorta) on Fan Appreciation Night #1

With the first of two fan appreciation nights on tap the teams at Moler Raceway Park came prepared with giveaways and freebies for the fans and especially the kids on hand at the race track. To prepare the Chevette division drivers for race track conditions for their Hillbilly Nationals Event in two weeks they were the first division of cars to race on the night and they put on an exciting race in their feature event. At the drop of the green flag it was Rusty Yarger out front with Derick Davis and Miles Tarvin right on his back bumper. With the entire field battling in one pack for 6-15th spot there were numerous cautions for minor spins but on each restart it was those top three out front and setting sail. Following a caution on lap 6 the #78 machine of Miles Tarvin did not go on the start and after coasting around on the high side of the race track the caution was once again brought out allowing Jeff Watson to join the battle for the top spot up front. With 3 laps to go Davis was able to get beside Yarger for the lead but the two leaders made contact off of turn four and Davis ended up sliding through the infield and to a stop. On the restart it was Yarger holding off the charge of Watson to claim his first win of the 2012 season in his Wilson’s Body shop, Northwest Transmission, Roark Construction sponsored machine. Following Watson across the line was Michael Bowling, John Clark, and Devin Puckett rounding out the top five positions. Yarger and Davis were heat race winners earlier in the night.

In the Mt Orab Ford Late Model Division it was a very fast hammer down track with a field of cars that really like that kind of surface to race on. In heat race action it was Chad Stapleton of Edinburgh, Indiana taking the first heat win over Lawrenceburg, Indiana’s Scott James while Barry Doss of Sardinia, Ohio claiming the win in heat #2 over a hard charging Jason Jameson of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. In the feature event it was Doss and Stapleton bringing the field to the green flag but third place starting Jason Jameson had other ideas as he snuck under Doss in turn #1 to take the lead on the first lap. While Jameson would set sail and runaway with his second feature win of the season at MRP in his Bert Transmission sponsored machine it was the battles back in the pack that made for a great race that went green to checker with no caution flags. While Doss ran second the whole race it was Wayne Chinn and Stapleton running side-by-side for third spot almost the entire race while Duane Chamberlain and James did the same thing for the fifth spot. Chinn would finally take the third position away from Stapleton on the final lap. Current track points leader Chamberlain would also manage to pull away from James to claim the fifth spot.

In the Holman Motors Modified Division Devin Gilpin was looking for win number four on the season but as with every other night this season there was a strong field of cars on hand to try and prevent that. In preliminary action it was Joe Godsey of Edinburgh, Indiana claiming the first heat win over Gilpin while Goshen, Ohio’s Dustin Webber would claim his second heat win of the season over Bethel Ohio's Larry Pickelheimer Jr. In heat number three it was Maysville, Ky’s Jeremie Bretz claiming his second straight heat win with a final lap pass of Shawn Tolson of Walton, KY. In the feature event it was a repeat of last week as Jeremie Bretz in the Seip’s Carquest Auto Parts #03 machine out front with Webber and Gilpin in pursuit. Following a big pileup in turn #1 on lap three it was Bretz out front but on the restart Gilpin would charge to the top spot two laps later and set sail to claim his fourth win in a row. Bretz would maintain second spot throughout the race while Webber and Godsey would claim 3rd and 4th positions. Fifth place of the night was claimed by Jimmy Lennex Jr who had a great race long battle with Doug Adkins and Larry Pickelheimer Jr.

Near the conclusion of the modified feature event Mother Nature started creating havoc with some strong winds and light rain and with a strong storm in the area it was decided to forego the Crazy Compact feature event until next week to allow fans and drivers to exit the facility.   Earlier in the night it was Kevin Penick claiming his the heat race win while Chris Sawyer finished second.

Many thanks go out to the numerous teams for providing kid’s shirts and items that were given away throughout the night and a special thanks to the Dirt Racing Connection crew for the box of giveaways they were able to throw into the crowd throughout the evening.  With next week being a regular show MRP will get the autograph session on the front stretch and the makeup compact feature in then.

Coca Cola Turkey Gobbler 40 a success at Moler Raceway Park!

11-19-11 - Williamsburg, OH - In the second actual running of the Turkey Gobbler it was many new competitors on hand, representing eight different states, for the 40 lap $1500 to win event. In heat race action it was Dillon Huron, Freddie Carpenter, and Barry Doss claiming heat wins with Jason Jameson claiming the B-main event and setting the 20 car starting lineup. In the feature event it was Parkersburg, WV Freddie Carpenter out front but at the end of lap one he slowed suddenly bringing out the caution and the end to his day. On the restart it was Dillon Huron out front but Barry Doss would take the lead on lap five. The man on the move was Jameson who started in 16th spot but had worked his way to 4th by lap 9. Following a caution on lap 11, it was Doss, Brandon Thirlby, and Jameson controlling the top 3 spots. At the green those three drivers put on a great battler as they raced away from the rest of the field. While racing through heavy traffic on lap 26 Jameson was able to squeeze by Doss and take the top spot and set sail for the win. Following Jason Jameson was Doss in second spot with Thirlby in 3rd with Duane Chamberlain and Dustin Linville rounding out the top five positions. Thirlby won a $50 Gas Card from Holman Motors for racer traveling the furthest, from Traverse City, MI.

The Mt Orab Ford Modifieds were also in action and going for $800 to win and with a field of 28 cars on hand they were going to have to fight their way into the feature to make the 20 car field. In preliminary action it was Dave McWiliams, Robert Garnes, and Dave Baldwin claiming heat wins with Matt Bex claiming the B-main event. In the feature it looked as though Dave McWilliams was going to get the monkey off his back as he rocketed out to the lead but he started slowing on lap 10. On a lap 11 restart Robert Garnes from Ripley,WV was able to get by McWilliams and would lead the rest of the 25 lap feature event to claim his first ever feature event at MRP in his Bumper Man sponsored machine. Behind Garnes was a great race as Dave Baldwin, Troy Clark, Collin Thirlby, and Dustin Linville all battled for 2nd through 5th spots. A $50 Gas card was also given to the fan traveling furthest, which was from Florida. In the Holman Motors Chevette division it looked like the rest of the year as Rusty Yarger and Miles Tarvin were ready to battle for supremecy once again as each won their respective heats. At the drop of the green they ran side-by-side for the first lap before a caution during lap two would set the field single file for the restart. On the restart Tarvin led the field into turn one before the nose of his car folded under and off of the race car and sent the 2011 track champion straight up into the air ending his night. Unfortunately Derick Davis in his #12 car ran over the debris ending his night as well. On the restart it was all Yarger out front as he claimed yet another win in his Wilson Body Shop, Roquet Signs machine. Josh Francis would come home second with Ryan Hamblin, Dan Yazell, and Jerry Florence Jr rounding out the top five spots. In the Big Red Book street stocks there were many new competitors on hand and a field of 12 cars trying to claim a final victory for 2011. In the heat race it was Troy Clark of North Vernon, Indiana taking the win and in the feature event it was more of the same as Clark and 2011 Track Champion Bub Balsley out front and running away from the field. At the end of the fifteen lap affair it was Clark in victory lane in his Mike Bechelli Racing,Scensy Independant Consultant, Weedan Street and Performance machine. Balsley came home second with Randy Charles, Paul Baker and Bobby Hinkle rounding out the top five.

Moler Raceway Park would like to thank all the racers, fans and sponsors for making the 2011 Season and their Fifth Year Anniversary such a success. Banquet January 21st. www.molerracewaypark.com - details coming soon. Congratulations to our 2011 Track Champions, Barry Doss, Doug Adkins, Bub Balsley and Miles Tarvin.
