MRP Party In The Park Night #1 Kicks Off Month of June

In what started as a smooth night of racing was thrown a curve ball as Mother Nature made an appearance at MRP just after all the heat races were completed. After spending lots of time to run the track in and getting all cars onto the track to help it was a super fast race track when the Late Models took to the track for their 30 lap feature event. At the drop of the green it was Wheelersburg,Ohio's Rod Conley and Edinburgh, Indiana's Chad Stapleton out front and setting a torrid pace at the front of the field. A Mike Unger spin on lap 7 slowed the pace and on the restart there was significant tire smoke from the left rear of Conley and within two laps his tire blew bringing out a second caution flag. On the restart it was all Stapleton as the Club 29,K&L Machine, Brian Bowman Dodge, Rodger's Bar sponsored machine would go on and claim his second feature win of the season. Scott Edmisten would come home second with John Whitney, Chad Smith, and Lauren Longbrake completing the top five spots. In heat race action Stapleton was victorious over Longbrake while Conley was victorious in heat #2 over Edmisten. Conley would win the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Dash event.

In the Matt's Graphics UMP Modified division it was Edinburgh, Indiana's Joe Godsey taking the feature win in his Tony Stewart Racing, JD Byrider, Rush Truck Center, Larry Shaw Race car. It was far from easy as fellow Larry Shaw Racecar driven by Adam Stricker would ride the bumper of Godsey for the final 15 laps and even attempted a big slide job on the final lap but to no avail as Godsey would turn under Sticker and retake the lead and go on to win the 20 lap affair. Jimmy Lennex would come home second with Dave McWilliams and Larry Pickelheimer completing the top five positions. Godsey and Jeff Surber were victorious in the heat race events.

In the Tarvin Auto Service Freedom 4's it was heat race winners,Miles and Kyle Tarvin bringing the field to the green flag but Kyle would have problems and drop back quickly allowing Miles Tarvin to jump to the lead that he wouldn't give up over the 15 lap feature event. At the checkers it was Sean Jones coming home second with Josh Davis, Eric Weaver, and Mike Clark completing the top five spots.

The Diamond Cut Lawn Care Sport Mod division would feature Stout,Ohio's Derek Richmond and Georgetown, Ohio's Andy Trout winning heat races. In the feature it was all Richmond as the likeable young driver would get the monkey off his back and take his first feature win of the 2015 race season. Bert Crawford would charge from last place on the start following heat race mechanical issues to claim a second place finish over Trout, Tony Seibert, and Glenn Keaton.

A large field of DRC Crazy Compacts were on hand with 20 cars taking the green flag in the feature event. At the green it was heat race winner Justin Dalton taking the lead into turn #1 but it was Springboro, Ohio's Kevin Stamper making the pass into turn #3 and taking the lead he wouldn't give up throughout the 15 lap event. While Stamper would lead all the laps it was a great 4 car battle behind him for the second position with Bill Gibson, Jason Borgemenke, Dalton, and Blake Gibson completing the top five running order at the end of the feature.
