“Kid Dasco” Devin Gilpin Doubles Up on Kid's Night at MRP


Week #5 at Moler Raceway Park seen the return of Devin Gilpin in his Beeman Lumber, Vallery Cheverolet, Dasco Race Supply sponsored MastersBuilt Chassis late model jump to an early lead and never look back in leading all 25 laps enroute to his 1st late model win of the season at MRP. John Whitney would again come home in second spot with Chad Stapleton, Kevin Wagner and Chris Shannon completing the top five spots. Gilpin and Chad Oberson won heat races.

In the Matt's Graphics UMP Modified Division it was again Gilpin out front at the start of the 20 lap feature event with Joe Godsey in second spot with Adam Stricker in third. As the race wore on there were numerous minor cautions that would slow the pace but even the cautions couldn't slow Gilpin from winning his 4th modified feature in 5 events in 2015 in his Impressive Chassis, Dasco Race Supply, Vallery Cheverolet sponsored machine. Stricker would fight past Godsey to claim second spot with Godsey, Mike Meyers, and Dave McWilliams completing the top five positions. In heat race action it was Gilpin and Godsey taking the wins while Matt Watson claimed his first checkered flag in the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Dash event.

The Tarvin Auto Service Freedom 4's had another great event as Sean Jones and early race leader Eric Weaver would battle for the first 12 laps before Jones was able to take over the top spot and lead the final 3 laps to take his 3rd feature win in last 4 weeks of racing action.Weaver would come home second with Dustyn Fisher,Mike Clark, and Kyle Tarvin completing the top 5. Weaver and Clark were winners of the heat races.

In theDRC.net Crazy Compacts it was Lynchburg, Ohio's Jason Borgemenke claiming his first ever feature win as he outdualed Springboro, Ohio's Kevin Stamper early in the race and went on and led the final 11 laps to claim the popular victory. Stamper would come home second with Richard Dalton, Tony Reed, and Chris Shelton Sr completing the top five spots. Stamper was victorious in the heat race while Chris Shelton Sr won the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Dash event for non-winners.

In the final event of the night it was the Diamond Cut Lawn Care SportMods with a large field of cars on hand it was last week's feature winner Bert Crawford winning heat race #1 while Emily Jordan would take the win in heat #2 with a last corner pass on Andy Trout. In the feature event it was Jordan and Crawford making contact on the initial start with Jordan spinning and forcing a restart. On the restart it was Crawford out front but he would spin on lap #2 which allowed Flemingsburg, Ky's Mitchell Fields to take over the top spot. Fields would lead the remaining 13 laps with pressure from Trout but would claim his 3rd feature win on the season in his Fields Garage, River Rat Logging, Darrell Fannin Trucking, Cropper Race Engines sponsored machine. Trout would come home second with Derek Richmond, Jordan, and AJ Ganino completing the top five.
